Field Placement
The Social Work major at Providence College prepares students with the tools they need to thrive as compassionate and skillful social work practitioners. One of the most foundational components of this process is field education, the “signature pedagogy for social work” (CSWE EPAS, 2022). In the field, students learn to integrate theory with practice, applying the knowledge, values, and skills learned in the classroom to a variety of social work settings. The rich learning experiences and professional connections built in the field last for many years to come.
